The photo series titled Hurricanes by Elizaveta Porodina, a photographer based in Munich, Germany, is full of gloom. As though the models captured in the photoshoot were caught in the natural disaster it is named after, there is an emotional rife present throughout that speaks of loss, frustration and resignation. Furthering the theme is the use of wet hair and barely-there makeup.
Hurricanes by Elizaveta Porodina is also given a post-production treatment to give the images a vintage aesthetic. This all works together to tug at heartstrings in a curious way. Since the images are obviously posed, people may have mixed feelings when viewing them. Nevertheless, they are undeniably arresting as they are full of emotion.
