Hurricane Sandy is closely upon us -- or at least those living in the US Mid-Atlantic -- and while most of us prepare for the storm to come, it is interesting to see some of the bizarre measures New Yorkers have taken to get ready.
This collection of photographs features some of the precautionary measures that some people in New York city have been taking before hurricane Sandy reaches their shores. The storm is predicted to hit later today and could result in severe flooding and even power outages lasting a few days.
Cars, cellar doors and statues have been covered in garbage bags, windows and doors have been taped up with cardboard, sandbags have been piled up in front on store doors and people have even started flipping over garbage cans. And while these photos seem funny at first, they might actually be of some us soon.
