The HoverSkaters batteries are claimed to be good for 50 burts of hovering at ful throttle, although battery capacity and use will vary with the rider's weight.
The developers of the HoverSkater hava taken to Kickstarter in an attempt to raise $22,000 to cover testing, development, production and distribution of the product. If the funding goal is met, the HoverSkater will be available by Christmas 2014 for a price of around $1,500 plus shipping costs.
