The New York City Housing Authority is launching a new smartphone housing app that is designed to make it a whole lot easier for people living in New York Housing Authority buildings to go about contacting housing officials for repair requests and maintenance.
One of the realities of living in public housing is that it's often very difficult to get in touch with housing authorities, and even once you do get their attention, there is often a lot of red tape that you have to go through. This housing app makes the process a little easier by helping to keep paperwork down by letting tenants send their maintenance requests directly to workers. The app also offers tenants alerts about service updates and outages in their buildings.
By using a housing app to better engage with tenants, the New York City Housing Authority is looking to make the experience of public housing a more pleasant one for tenants.
