Hotel Daphne Offers a Chic Historical Stay in Houston

Opening in December 2025, Hotel Daphne will be Bunkhouse Hotels’ second Houston property, offering a design-driven stay in the historic Houston Heights neighborhood.

The five-story hotel will feature "49 rooms and suites, an all-day restaurant, a ground-floor bar and lounge, a landscaped courtyard, a library, and a lobby retail shop." Its architectural approach draws from the Heights’ late-19th-century character, incorporating painted brick, stepped parapets, and steel windows to reflect the area’s recycled industrial style.

Bunkhouse will oversee interior design and creative direction, integrating Arts and Crafts influences and combining custom furnishings, curated artwork, and vintage pieces to create an inviting, layered environment. Meanwhile, the hotel’s restaurant, Hypsi, led by two-time James Beard Award nominee Terrence Gallivan, will offer Italian-inspired cuisine and reference the private drinking clubs that once operated during the neighborhood’s dry era.
