California-based artist Andrew Tarusov created this collection of sensual heroine pin-up illustrations. Each image alters the viewer's perspective of female superheroes by giving them a more sexual persona.
Images of She-Hulk, Black Widow and Sue Storm show that women can be both powerful, independent and feminine at the same time. In a sense these images bring a complexity to the heroic characters. While these characters can often be overshadowed by male heroes, these women boast bulging muscles, fierce superpowers and razor-sharp reflexes, all while wearing a pair of high heels.
This artist has created other illustrations that present Disney princesses and Game of Thrones characters as pin-up models, but this is the first set of heroine pin-up characters. These illustrations flawlessly fuse sensual motifs with female empowerment.
