Better-For-You Ice Creams

Toronto's Hero Ice Cream is Made from All-Natural Ontario Cream

With consumers increasingly concerned about what goes into the food they buy, Hero Ice Cream is hoping to make an indulgent dessert a little bit healthier.

Hero Ice Cream is a Toronto-based ice cream company that specializes in ice cream that is high in protein, low in fat, and low in calories. To make the ice cream, founder Jason Cherun and his team start with fresh, all-natural Ontario cream. The cream is then combined with cane sugar, milk protein concentrate, and erythritol. For flavored options such as chocolate-covered strawberry, only organic fruits are used.

As stated on the brand's website, Hero Ice Cream was born out of Cherun's desire to create "a product that had the same decadence and real ice cream quality of a 'premium' ice cream brand, but with better-for-you ingredients and nutritional qualities."
