In addition to making a few types of potato chips that are cooked in avocado oil, Kettle Brand is now introducing two new types of chips that are prepared with an alternative healthy cooking oil—100% almond oil. Like avocado oil, almond oil is known for its higher smoke point, which makes it ideal for cooking at high temperatures.
Kettle Brand's newest Non-GMO Project verified, gluten-free chips are Wood Smoked Sea Salt and Fiery Thai, which includes Asian-inspired ingredients like lemongrass-infused salt, ginger and other regional spices.
Many consumers who are looking for better-for-you snacks are turning to healthier plant-based crisps, as well as potato chips that are cooked in oils that do not contain hydrogenated fats, the most unhealthy type of fat and one that is known to be a contributor to cardiovascular disease.
