Anti-Contact Door Handle Attachments

The 'Hands Up' Door Handle Requires an Elbow for Opening

Commonly touched surfaces like door handles are being cleaned constantly in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic to help curb the spread of the virus, so the 'Hands Up' door handle is intended to help offer an upstream alternative.

The door handle attachment has been designed by the Valencia-based Mano de Santo architecture studio and works by being slipped over an existing door handle. The device immediately transforms the handle by requiring users to open it with their elbow or forearm instead of their hands to stop contact before it occurs.

The 'Hands Up' door handle is crafted from cardboard to make it easy to install, low-cost and also recyclable to make it an eco-friendly way to prevent pathogen spread.
