These handcrafted pieces by ZPStudio Tools and a variety of Italian artisans work with a range of materials to create the finished look. Three pieces were made for the project, presented at Milan Design Week 2014, and all have varying functions. One tool can even be used for two separate purposes, going from an umbrella holder to a candlestick support.
According to DesignBoom, "balanced with new technological innovations, direct control over details is achieved to create finished items that retain a sense of authenticity." The artists were trying to keep with Italian tradition with these handcrafted pieces, and they also wanted to experiment with the eclectic range of materials, and how these pieces could fit together. Because of this mentality, most items are fitted with contrasting materials, but somehow the design scheme does not look off.
