An Australian start-up called Gymsight is developing a fitness-tracking platform that can help gym-goers keep track of their performance and to find ways to improve and attain their fitness goals. Gymsight uses a portable device called a Transfitter that can be hooked up to weight room equipment and can beam data about work-out performance to equipment users’ smartphones.
Are you a scrawny gym noob looking to build some bulging biceps? Gymsight can help with that as it can count how many repetitions you’re able to do on a dumbbell curl exercise for example, and scrutinize your form and technique.
It can also store your work-out plan and keep track of what exercises you’ve been doing.
Gymsight also motivates you to work towards those bragging rights by letting you compare your numbers to those of your friends. But if you’re having trouble keeping up with your friends and are thinking of creeping their workout plan, Gymsight lets you do that too!
