Hyperrealistic Pool Paintings

This Artwork by Gustavo Silva Nunez Features Scenes of Swimming

Based out of Venezuela, artist Gustavo Silva Nunez paints stunningly lifelike images of people emerging from water. The breathtaking artwork focuses mainly on female subjects underwater in bathing suits, but both men and women can be seen partially submerged, swimming and floating in mostly clear water. The extremely realistic scenes, when placed on the ground, create a visual illusion of the person being in a pool, rather than a painting.

In addition to water-based scenes, Gustavo Silva Nunez is very talented at painting portraits. His Facebook page contains many images of old tattooed men that are ridiculously realistic looking. In a piece called Intervention, he also painted what appears to be a slab of steak on a tree stump.
