Metal was used to make the entirety of the piece with folding techniques, giving it three dimensions and a sturdy structure. It may be difficult to appreciate from this particular angle, but the base of the book stand is sloped. Two high sides offer support to teetering piles of publications as they slide towards the rear corner with gravity.
