The creative process can be enhanced when people put their heads together. The Growth Table does an exceptional job of bringing artists of all shapes and sizes into the same imaginative environment as a whimsical piece of furniture with the space to accommodate six.
Tim Durfee and Iris Anna Regn worked with the basic form of a drafting table, extrapolated upon its scale and turned it into an extended drawing desk. Following the slant of the sketching surface, the eccentric object becomes nearly four meters long, providing three broad tables and four integrated benches down its length.
The seats are built and slotted into the frame of the caterpillar-like escritoire. The short end welcomes young sketchers into a toddler-sized nook, the Growth Table emerges upwards and adults can fit comfortably at the high side. Each designer is provided with handy slots and holes for holding pencil crayons, paints and more.
