Adobe has added GPU acceleration in order to make Lightroom Classic editing faster. As cameras continue to produce higher-resolution photos, editing software needs to be able to handle the large files. GPU acceleration will allow user processors to help manage large photo files during editing. The updates to Lightroom are currently being added to the platform.
Adobe has indicated that the new release will provide a better and increasingly responsive photo editing user experience. This will be most evident when users are working on extremely high-resolution photos, with a device that has a powerful GPU. With older or less powerful devices, users will not experience a change on the platform.
