Google is rumoured to be launching its own mobile phone in collaboration with Dell. Google, falling through with its rumoured launch last year for an iPhone Competitor (the GPhone), has mustered up some muscle and is said to be announcing its plan alongside Dell at the 3GSM telecoms conference next month. However, no one from either Google or Dell will step up to the plate and confirm the allegations, keeping a rather tight lip on the subject.
Dell being the more experienced in the mobile market, however their experience has not been much to brag about, with their last attempt with PDAs going almost unnoticed. As a result, Dell too has conjured up some strength and hired Motorola executive Ron Garriques to run the show.
With the disappointment that led after Google did not announce the GPhone, but rather Android (An operating system for mobile phones), and Dells latest “flop†in the market with their PDAs, I can guess these two are pretty hungry for some great phone success.
