GLP-1 Medication Support Systems

CVS Pharmacy Announced a Comprehensive Support System

CVS Pharmacy has introduced a comprehensive support system for patients using GLP-1 medications. This includes a new $50 monthly copay for eligible Medicare beneficiaries through the CMS Bridge program, expanded virtual care options through MinuteClinic with $49 weight management visits, and enhanced in-store resources to manage common side effects.

The company is also leveraging its network of pharmacists to provide personalized one-on-one guidance that will help patients navigate dosing, cost-saving options like manufacturer coupons and vouchers, and adherence strategies from the initial prescription through ongoing treatment. To further address the gastrointestinal discomfort that often leads to discontinuation of therapy, CVS has curated over-the-counter product displays in select locations, featuring items for nausea, hydration, and nutrition, alongside its own brand offerings that provide affordable alternatives.

The virtual MinuteClinic service, available in most states, connects adults with licensed clinicians who can evaluate candidates for weight loss and prescribe FDA-approved GLP-1 therapies when appropriate.
