Glithero Created Textiles Out of Organ Punch Cards

— April 4, 2014 — Fashion
Taking musical punch cards that are normally used for organs, the design duo behind Glithero made a scarf instead. The punch card was used as a basis to make a completely unique textile piece inspired by music.

According to PSFK, the Glithero team "first had to translate the musical notes from an organ music book over to a punch card that was compatible with a Jacquard loom. Then, when fed in to the loom, hooks dropped down through each of the holes to change the direction of the threads and create a unique pattern inspired by music." The scarf is therefore unlike anything seen before, and has a design that musicians especially will appreciate and might even gain their own inspiration from.
