Morphosis Architects created The Emma and Georgina Bloomberg Center at the Cornell Tech campus, offering the school a building with environmental sustainability and state-of-the-art design. Acting as the intellectual nerve center of the entire school, this building reflects the joint goals of the campus, including creativity and excellence by providing large academic spaces that inspire collaboration.
This four-storey building features artistic aluminum panels and large windows that show views from every room. The design team used a rain screen system, allowing for rain collection and recycling. The Emma and Georgina Bloomberg Center is one of the largest net-zero energy academic buildings in the world, with an on-site power generator that was awarded with the LEED Platinum status.
