Italian graphic designer and photographer Paolo Pettigiani isolates images within the bigger picture to highlight subtle patterns within geometric photos.
His latest photoseries 'E X P O' explores buildings and forms present at the current Universal Exposition 'EXPO 2015,' located this year in Milan, Italy. At a gathering that features several world renowned architects, Pettiginai cleverly explored minimal examples of both geometry and of color present around them. Each photo isolates a specific section of a building, and in doing so, separates it not only from the surrounding area, but also from the original building itself.
With this collection of minimally inspired geometric photos, the artist is able to highlight forms that would often be overlooked against a larger backdrop. Isolating our view allows the viewer to understand and appreciate subtle aspects of the world around us.
