The Helia Platform by Gantri and Ammunition Introduces Cordless Lighting

— May 24, 2026 — Art & Design
Gantri and Ammunition developed Helia as a wireless lighting platform built around interchangeable internal components and rechargeable portability. The system combines a battery module, touch-sensitive controls, customizable LED components, and a stainless steel charging puck that supports multiple lamp formats across the collection. Helia currently powers the Drift, Pier, and Eave lighting series, with Gantri positioning the platform as a scalable system for future third-party lighting designs.

The lamps detach from polished charging bases for portable use throughout interior and outdoor spaces while maintaining a fixed docking orientation during charging. Gantri stated that the wireless lights operate for more than 10 hours per charge and are being developed for future Matter smart home compatibility. The collection also incorporates Gantri’s digitally manufactured plant-based polymer construction alongside modular charging trays intended for hospitality environments including restaurants and hotels.

Trend Themes

  1. Wireless Modular Lighting — A cordless, dockable lamp system with interchangeable internals enables lighting ecosystems that can be reconfigured by designers and third parties without rewiring or replacing whole fixtures.
  2. Battery as Design Element — Rechargeable power modules are being treated as visible, swappable components that influence product form, user interaction, and service models.
  3. Matter-compatible Smart Lighting — Emerging support for universal smart-home standards promises cross-brand interoperability that could shift value from individual devices to platform-level services.

Industry Implications

  1. Hospitality and Restaurants — Modular charging trays and portable lamps create opportunities for venues to customize ambiance while simplifying maintenance and guest-driven placement.
  2. Residential Home Furnishings — Digitally manufactured, plant-based polymer lamps with detachable batteries suggest new product lines that blend sustainability with adaptable interior styling.
  3. Commercial and Architectural Lighting — Dockable, battery-powered fixtures introduce possibilities for temporary, reconfigurable illumination schemes in leased or evolving built environments.
