Häagen-Dazs is marking the start of 2023 with a brand new fukubukuro lucky bag in Japan.
In Japan, fukubukuro is a tradition that involves giving shoppers a 'lucky' grab bag filled with random contents, generally at a steep discount. To mark the start of the new year, Häagen-Dazs has created a new fukubukuro lucky bag that's filled with ice cream and sold for 50% off what you'd normally pay. Each lucky bag is a reusable tote filled with 20 different Häagen-Dazs ice cream pints and ice cream bars. Some standouts include the Caramel Party bars and ice creams in Japan-exclusive mochi flavors.
Häagen-Dazs is currently selling two types of fukubukuro lucky bags and, according to recent reports, these bags are going fast to crowds lined up outside the stores.
