McDonald's Malaysia recently introduced a new version of its beloved fried pie. The flaky pastry dessert is a staple on McDonald's menus around the world and now the sweet confection is available in an unusual new flavor.

The new lychee fried pie features the same crackly crust as the more traditional pie varieties. However, the inside is filled with diced pieces of lychee fruit. The pie also comes with a container of sweet lychee sauce for dipping. For those who prefer savory over sweet, customers can also order a new spinach version of the fried pie. This savory pastry is filled with a tasty blend of spinach, diced carrots and cream sauce.

Beyond the sweet and savory fried pies, McDonald's Malaysia is also offering customers the choice of a Lychee McFlurry or a creamy Lychee Shake.
