A free Wi-Fi map is something that's coveted by mobile device users that are on the go, but now the Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation (NTT) and NAVITIME Japan are coming together to offer something even sweeter. The partnership between NTT and NAVITIME Japan will help lead people to free Wi-Fi with the help of augmented reality.
The Wi-Fi location service is able to work offline and as well as this feature, the NAVITIME For Japan Travel app will help to direct people to popular tourist spots and public transit lines. As well, the app will help tourists to get their bearings in English.
With over 40,000 shops that offer free Wi-Fi and 1,000 Starbucks cafes, there will certainly be plenty of options for people to stop and enjoy some Wi-Fi for free.
