Modular Laptop Upgrades

Framework Laptop 12 Receives Intel Core Series 3 Hardware

Framework Laptop 12 has been updated with Intel Core Series 3 processors, bringing improved efficiency, longer battery life and expanded hardware options to the modular laptop. Configurations are available with Core 3, Core 5 and Core 7 processors, paired with 8GB, 16GB or 32GB of RAM, while DIY builds support up to 48GB of DDR5 memory. The refresh also adds Thunderbolt 4 support on two of the laptop's four Expansion Card slots, alongside optional upgrades including a backlit keyboard and an integrated fingerprint reader.

The 12.2-inch display remains unchanged, while the refreshed hardware supports pre-installed Fedora Linux or Windows 11 as an upgrade option. Framework says the Core 5 configuration delivers up to 70% longer battery life during Netflix streaming compared with the previous Core i5 model. Pre-built Linux versions start at $699, while DIY editions begin at $549 in multiple color options including black, gray, light purple, pink and green.
