The New Fortnite Getaway Mode Has Players Complete a Heist

Building on its highly successful Battle Royale mode, the new Fortnite Getaway mode turns the game into a high-stakes snatch-and-grab. Launched as part of the game's HIgh Stakes event, this new game mode is a radical departure from the core elements of the standard Battle Royale. Unlike standard Battle Royale, Fortnite Getaway mode doesn't require players to be the last man standing. Instead, the game type tasks players with grabbing a large jewel and locating a safe to deposit their treasure while combating other players.

Also included with the Fortnite Getaway mode is the High Stakes event, which will bring a new set of challenges and cosmetic upgrades to characters. The event and new game mode are currently available for all players to try.
