Over the weekend, over 10 million Fortnite users logged in to attend the first-ever live Fortnite concert, which took the form of a 10-minute set performed by electronic dance music star Marshmello. The entirety of the virtual concert took place within the world of Fortnite, a free-to-play video game that's currently one of the most popular in the world. Ordinarily, players are pitted against one another in a test of survival, but for the special event, all weapons were disabled and players were able to enjoy the music without re-spawning.
Fortnite has also started a phenomenon with its in-game dances, many of which players were able to use as they tuned into the virtual concert.
This virtual concert within Fortnite was a special one, and as Marshmello notes, "so many people got to experience their first concert ever."
