Budget-Concious Recipe Books

This Cookbook Outlines How to Eat Well on a Food Stamp Budget

Leanne Brown recently published a unique cookbook that demonstrates how to eat well on a food stamp budget. In the United States, approximately 47 million people rely on food stamps to feed themselves and their families. Unfortunately, many of these people are forced to purchase highly processed foods because they are less expensive than fresh foods.

Brown published 'Good and Cheap' in order to show people how to eat healthy on a budget of just $4 per day. The recipes featured in the book are inexpensive to prepare, but also highly nutritious. Many of the recipes feature basic pantry ingredients that can be used to build a complete meal. The recipes are also designed to be flexible, meaning consumers can substitute certain ingredients when they are in season or on sale. The goal of the cookbook is to help consumers eat healthy even when they are forced to adhere to a food stamp budget.

To ensure that everyone has access to her budget-friendly cookbook, Brown has made Good and Cheap available as a free online download.
