Unicode Consortium is Aiming to Add Several More Meal Graphics

While Apple just released a slew of freshly updated emojis with the release of the latest iOs software update, allegedly Unicode Consortium is already evaluating several new food emojis that were left out to add to the visual keyboard. The already on-going discussion to add new graphics is a testament to how frequently pop culture, slang and popular phrases are changing and how consumers are demanding their visual language be kept up to speed.

According to the Unicode Consortium, there are currently 74 new emoji candidates being evaluated for selection -- with the number subject to change as designs pass or are taken out of the running. A few food emojis the firm has released that are in the running include a glass of milk, a kiwi, a peanut, a stack of pancakes and an egg. The new emojis are set to debut in early 2016.
