When a store carries a large amount of inventory, it can become very easy for their website layout to become cluttered and difficult to navigate -- especially when it comes to food e-commerce. Luckily Marx Foods, who offer retail and wholesale find foods, managed to avoid this problem. In addition to a simple horizontal toolbar identifying food groups (meats and poultry, seafood, produce, pantry, samplers and more) they have a top sellers section and a top categories section. With the exception of an alternating banner section showing the most recent brand news, there is little else on the home page.

The other key with food e-commerce is quality photography to make the items for sale look as enticing as possible.
