British design brand Another Country has partnered with Dana Cannam, a Canadian designer, to create the First Light Collection. Comprised of a pendant, table and floor lamp, the collection will be displayed at the Maison & Objet trade fair.
No matter its configuration, each lamp features a ceramic, cylindrical shade, available in black, terracotta or natural. Each of the shades are molded by hand, and the machined metal accouterments are hand-brazed after the fact. The colors and materials work together to create a sense of warmth.
Cannam was inspired by mid-century hand tools, most specifically an old speed handle she keeps in her studio. The line stays true to her clean, minimalist aesthetic, while continuing to demand a certain level of engagement from the user.
