Medical care can be incredibly expensive; thankfully, the Firefly Phototherapy unit offers an affordable and effective treatment for newborns suffering from jaundice, which is a yellowish pigmentation of the skin. The Firefly Phototherapy unit is currently going through clinical trials in district-level hospitals providing primary health care in Southeast Asia.

Conceived and created by Design That Matters, the Firefly Phototherapy unit is equipped with top and bottom light therapy as well as an easily cleanable bassinet and intuitive controls. Light and portable, Dr. Nguyễn Thanh H notes, "Firefly provides very good access to the infant for bottle feeding, diaper changes, and even blood tests. We performed blood tests on each of the four infants treated so far without removing them from Firefly."
