Pet portraits are bad enough, but these are really freaky and eerily lifelike with the precise markings of the fur copied into each felted fur toy dog. They are so lifelike, in fact, that they are freaking both my cats and myself out.
These pieces come from Etsy of course, and are sculpted out of Icelandic and Merino wool. Needle felting uses a special barbed needle tool to create the form so there is no sewing, stuffing or pattern of any kind. It really is a sculpture in wool.
