NGV Melbourne Launches a Virtual Tour of Red Kawakubo's Work

This virtual fashion design exhibition tour is made available as the world deals with the COVID-19 epidemic, which has forced the cancellation of many events across all categories--from the closure of cultural and educational institutions to the suspension of conferences, bar service, and much more.

The National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne is one of several institutions that still attempts "to incite visitorship" but in a safe manner. As a result, the gallery has made virtual tours available. One of them is for a highly regarded fashion design exhibition that explores the work and merit of iconic Japanese fashion designer, Rei Kawakubo, who is known for his COMME des GARÇONS work. The experience traces the origins of the fashion icon and the evolution of his designs. It is called 'Collecting Comme.'
