Off-Beat Shellfish Vending Machines

Japan's Farm Suzuki Launched an Oyster Vending Machine

Farm Suzuki is creating a buzz in Japan's seafood industry. It recently launched an off-beat initiative to distribute its Claire oysters as a pandemic-induced adaptation. The Japan-based company turned to this direct-to-consumer approach to continue offering its renowned products.

The vending machine includes fire oysters, raw oysters on the half-shell, and raw tiger shrimp. Customers will be surprised to find that the vending machine is also complete with a microwave to reheat the fried oysters. Farm Suzuki quickly gained notoriety throughout the nation and was featured on the Japanese government's Twittter. Currently, there are two operating machines, one located in the Toranomon Hills Business Tower in Tokyo and the other in a Hiroshima souvenir shop.
