These Blankets Replicate the Faces of Famous Females Using Fabric

This blanket visualized and made by Floray Joy creatively showcases the portraits of three famous females in one thanks to an optical illusion design. The one quilt is able to showcase three different portraits depending on the viewer's perspective and where they are positioned when they look at the piece.

The quilt is are part of Brigham City's International Quilt Invitational that highlights the detailed embroidered work of talented craftspeople. Joy's piece offers a play on illusory perspective by incorporating three different images into one design, using fabric. When the user looks straight on at the quilt they can see Oprah Winfrey's portrait in a golden frame. However from either side, the image changes to show a portrait of either Jackie O. or Mother Teresa.
