Facebook announced that it will be allowing people to select a more customizable Facebook gender on their profile pages. The new change was announced by the Facebook Diversity program. Before this, Facebook allowed users to pick and choose between male and female as gender types. Now it has opened up to options that reflect the everyone and anyone, including the online transgender community.

As of right now you can customize your gender on Facebook. You can even select which pronouns you would prefer people on Facebook to refer to you as.If you are not comfortable telling the world your gender you can decide whether you want your gender to appear in your timeline and who can see your gender. This is an incredible social media stepping stone and it seems as though Facebook is really trying to cater to everyone and it's great news!
