The Experience Curiosity Project Lets You Control the Rover's Arm

'Experience Curiosity' is the collective name of a constellation of tools that allow the public to interact with the Curiosity rover on marks. Released to mark the third anniversary of Curiosity's stint on the moon, the tools allow visitors to learn more about Curiosity and its mission, whilst enjoying virtual tours.

The tools include Mars Trek, a browser-based app that provides detailed interactive maps of Mars by drawing on data from missions going all the way back to the 1960s. Users can also manipulate a virtual Curiosity rover, steer it between various mission waypoints and learn about its different components.

The Curiosity rover has proven to be one of mankind's great success stories in the realm of space exploration, and now Experience Curiosity gives the public a chance to well and truly understand Curiosity's role in Martian exploration.
