In terms of sustainable architecture, net zero energy is about as good as it gets, but the Elithis Tower in Dijon France eclipses that eco-friendly goal by being the first positive energy office building.

Net zero energy structures indicate that the building has net zero energy consumption and zero carbon emissions yearly. In the case of Elithis Tower, which was designed by Arte Charpentier Architects, its positive energy construction means that it actually creates more power than it uses. It also produces six times fewer greenhouse gas emissions than conventional office buildings.
