The Electrolux Motherspoon brings social media into the kitchen in a very specific manner. While people can obviously fiddle on their computers in this food-centric area, the Electrolux Motherspoon provides a more practical service while also connecting the cook to his or her family and friends. This unique device not only acts as a traditional spoon to cook with, it also shares and stores recipes.

Designed by Okan Akgöl, the Electrolux Motherspoon works in sets of two. Each spoon is registered onto a platform for file sharing. Instead of simply talking into the spoons, they record ingredients through sensors that decipher the meal as it is cooked. When the Electrolux Motherspoon is put back into its cradle, the recipe can be accessed from the other one.
