BMW released some of the details ahead of the release of its 'i4' electric sedan, which will take place in 2021. The company outlined that the car will have a range of 600km or 373 miles. BMW's electric sedan will be powered by an 80 kWh battery that is used to power a 390kW motor. The car will be able to produce 530 horsepower, and it can accelerate to speeds of 60 mph in approximately four seconds. The i4 will also have a top speed of 124 mph, which is similar to the company's fossil fuel-powered cars.
BMW views the i4 sedan as an important part of its larger push toward electrically powered vehicles. Alongside the i4, the company will also release 25 vehicles that are either electrically powered or hybrids.
