Electric motorcycle concepts are popular among designers who are part of the community and fans of the mode of transportation. The end results are often boundary-pushing and eye-catching. Most recently, designer Théo Cauchy decided to embark on an electric motorcycle concept that acts as " a fan-made revival of [a] popular Harley Davidson subsidiary that shut shop in 2009"—the Buell XBE. Théo Cauchy actually infuses elements of "the newly formed FUELL brand started by the same Erik Buell." Because of these influences the Buell XBE combines design elements of commuter bikes with more rugged sensibilities found in racer vehicles, for example. One of the signature elements of the Buel XBE that may stand out to fans is the six-pointed star on the rim of the back wheel.
