After a trip to Japan and Hong Kong, Mike Kravanis was inspired to use sushi ingredients to create edible cartoon characters. With intricate designs and clever details, Kravanis' characters look almost too good to eat.
Kravanis' edible cartoon characters draw inspiration from the Japanese practice of decorating bento boxes, also known as 'Decoben.' Using seaweed, rice and other edible ingredients, Kravanis manages to create incredibly detailed characters. His creations cover everything from Disney princesses to popular characters from animated cartoons. Some of his latest creations are drawn from the recent Pixar film, 'Inside Out.'
Kravanis' shares his aesthetically pleasing edible art on social media and thus far he has has garnered an impressive following on Instagram and Tumblr.
