Daimler's 'eConic' is an Electric Truck for City Waste Disposal

Daimler Truck announced its second electric truck, an industrial-focused vehicle titled the 'eConic.' This is a bulky, heavy truck that is intended for use in city waste collection and waste disposal systems. This truck will produce significantly fewer carbon emissions than its diesel-powered competitors. However, this does not come without a cost, as the eConic reportedly costs three times as much as a diesel-powered garbage truck.

Several eConic truck units have been presold to companies, and more models will become available for purchase soon. Lastly, according to Daimler, the benefits of using electric power will outweigh the increased upfront cost of the trucks after a few short years of operation. This is not only due to reduced gas consumption, but also reduced operation costs.
