Powering a blockchain system often relies purely on technology and traditional energy, but 4New is hoping to make an eco-friendly blockchain ecosystem powered by human waste. Essentially, 4New hopes to convert the waste humans produce into energy and then use that energy to power cryptocurrency mining. To accomplish this, 4New designed a process that leverages anaerobic digestion technology to convert human waste into electricity.
This eco-friendly blockchain ecosystem will be used by 4New to mine cryptocurrencies such as Ethereum, Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin and many more. This makes 4New's venture even more unique as it will not function as an energy exchange platform and instead will make 4New an energy producer. 4New currently has energy and waste conversion plants in Middlesbrough and Hartlepool in the U.K.
