Deep-fried ice cream can commonly be found in Chinese restaurants, but it is now readily available to those in Sydney, Australia thanks to Duo Duo and its food truck.
Duo Duo makes all of its creations with fresh ingredients, including flavors like cookies and cream, salted caramel and popcorn, as well as pandan with toasted coconut.
According to Duo Duo, the best deep-fried ice cream is not made in big batches and should be made from scratch rather than purchased. The making of the ice cream is a process that requires precision, as even a few degrees in temperature can make the treats too hard to eat or melt within their shell. When it comes to making the ice cream, Duo Duo begins a day before serving, scoops it into balls and wraps it in a layer of vanilla cake and panko breadcrumbs.
