Retro gaming furniture has never looked better than the Donkey Kong wine barrel. This awesome table, created by Joel Griffin Dodd, contains the arcade classic “Donkey Kong,” starring the gorilla with anger issues and a soon-to-be-famous Mario. The game itself is housed in the wine barrel, with a glass top over the screen and the joystick and buttons on one side.
Dodd’s project cost $415 and took 20 hours of work to complete. The best part about it is the arcade cabinet art on the rims of the wine barrel. They really make it look as if the table is an actual arcade cabinet, which it more or less is. Here’s hoping Dodd create more awesome pieces of furniture like the Donkey Kong wine barrel. I would kill for a “Metal Slug” coffee table.
