Web designer Dylan Pierce recently created a mirror that displays weather information in real time. When getting ready for the day, most of us check the weather forecast and dress accordingly. This mirror removes the hassle of checking the weather by providing you with a real time forecast.
Pierce built his weather-forcasting mirror out of a double-sided acrylic mirror and the Raspberry Pi programming kit. Pierce then installed a computer behind the mirror to serve as a kiosk for relaying information through the mirror. After installing an open-source web browser called Chromium, Pierce was able to create a webpage that displays weather information in real time. As a result, the mirror reveals information such as the time, date, forecast and even an animated weather icon.
Although Pierce only designed one version of the mirror, he has released a tutorial that explains how others can make their own version of the device.
