At first glance, the Disfatto Collection looks like it is comprised of typical couches that have simply been given a cute, comfortable and contemporary facelift. Within its cushions, however, lies a clever tweak that turns this 'couch' into a multifunctional piece of furniture. The back-supporting pillows can be converted into a comforter that, in turn, converts the couch into a bed. Hence the reason the collection was dubbed 'Disfatto,' which means 'undone' in Italian.
Created by Milan-based designer Denis Guidone for Italian manufacturer D3CO, the Disfatto Collection offers a fun alternative to traditional sofa beds. According to D3CO, "What characterizes it is a basic structure on which rests a shape with soft lines, and inviting atmosphere that undermines the principles of ergonomics and praises the imperfection."
