Wood-Carved Sci-Fi Icons

The Tony and Emmanuelle Lugand 'Holly Wood' Series is Epic

Parisian graphic artists Tony and Emmanuelle Lugand of La Souris sur le Gateau have created 'Holly Wood,' a reimagination of some of the most beloved gaming and science fiction icons in recent times. The team has created busts of the likes of Sonic the Hedgehog, Mario, Mickey Mouse and even Darth Vader that are made to look like they were carved by hand decades ago.

The pieces were created entirely through computer generation, artfully applying shadows and textures to produce what looks like old, handmade wooden sculptures. The portentous expressions on their faces make it hard to tell between hero and villain, heightening the mystery associated with the series and its ancient moodiness.
